Drops and Bubbles

This work is a jet-black spherical sound sculpture with 16 speaker units. The sound of water such as water droplets and bubbles echoes three-dimensionally from this sphere.

In the air, turn water into drop.
Under water, turn air into bubble.

Drops and bubbles move in an arabesque following the laws of nature.
Drops and bubbles are separated by a boundary: the water surface.

Drops and bubbles make ripples upon touching this surface, this shaking the boundary.

REI

"REI" is a jet-black sphere with a diameter of 75cm, equipped with 16 speaker units, and it is a sound sculpture that creates three-dimensional acoustic field.
The sound of water echoing from this sound sculpture symbolizes blood circulation, heartbeat, and breathing in the human body.
It creates a three-dimensional soundscape that changes according to the position of the listener.

REI is not a single piece, it is a series of sound installations consisting of the jet-black spherical sound sculpture.
